The East Oakland Brooklyn Arms Affordable and Supportive housing project continues to be reviewed by the City of Oakland Planning Department, the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board and the State Historic Preservation Office.

This project adds affordable housing units, a community center with commercial kitchen, supportive services and staff offices to an existing historic church and with a new building adjacent to the church.

The new housing building respects the existing historic building by setting back from the street edge and uses a series of arches to create a formal dialogue between the two structures.

The new building will be connected to the existing building via a second level open air bridge. This bridge serves an accessible physical connection between old and new.
